I have recently gotten an Evinrude Fisherman 6HP.
I believe the metal plate that had the serial # is missing.
Is there somewhere else on the motor where I can find the serial #?
I would like to age the motor before I start working on restoring it.

I will attach a couple of pictures.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Evinrude Fisherman 6HP

Well, I don't know how I missed that welsh plug.

It reads: 6002 B E11527

From what I have read so far, the "INTRODUCES" method will not work with a motor manufactured before 1980.

So how do I age this motor?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Evinrude Fisherman 6HP

Thanks for the help and the parts link!

My motor is just a little younger than I am! :D

I am chomping at the bit to get her hung up and start working on her.
I had my gall bladder removed a few days ago and my wife is watching my like a hawk!
I am going stir crazy just sitting here! Oh well, I guess I can read up on restoring my little motor.

Thanks again!

Does your motor lock in the tilted up position? If so, how does that work? I have a 1970 fisherman 6hp and I can't get it locked up in the tilted up position. It will tilt up, but I cannot figure out how to lock it up, if it does lock up! bbott68

bbott68: Not to jack this thread, but...
You just need to tighten the pivot bolt nut. That will put more friction allowing the motor to stay in the raised position. There is no mechanical lock on these motors, just friction.
