I have a 1976 85693g 85hp that is my first motor , I have worked most kinks out by replacing the stator, flywheel, rectify?. The motor runs fine on land but in the water shifting to forward the motor jumps bad. After the shift it run very well. My boy took the boat out last and the shifter got stuck in forward, I did wiggle the shifter back to netural when it came home. I don't think the shifter is part of the jumping problem.
Also, Could you tell me the grade of oil to put in the foot?
Also, What oil to I put in the trim pump?
Are there any other oil I put in the motor?

Sorry for a repeat question, I posted this tread before and couldn't find it.

Thank you in advance!

is the motor idling down nice and slow enough to shift without it banging into gear? cant advise on the proper gear oil for that model or the trim oil, but you are using tcw3 ob oil in the fuel at 50:1?

Yes it seems to idle down pretty well I guess, but if I go to N its a major jump back in forward, I read here it is better to shift quick than slow. Yes I use 2cmarine 50/1.
