I am doing a bunch of work to my motor and one of the things I wanted to do is replace the cracked red "manual valve" on my primer solenoid.
This is what mine looks like:

This is what the part I received looks like:

Can anyone tell me what part I need to order?

So either I have a different primer solenoid than my motor came with or part changed or something. but what I have has what looks like the tire valve in the center and I dont even know how this part would work...I ordered it and the o-ring.

Thanks.

if you don't fog or decarb your engine with that fitting using BRP's compressed cans,.....the one you received will work just fine.

Gotcha, so they are interchangeable. I see. Im just trying to sell the boat and want to make sure everything is in working order. Wasnt clear to me how to get the thing out as I was working in the dark. I can probably figure it out by pulling the solinoid and bring it up to the garage where I can see.
Thanks.

Is this your guy?;

Looks like someone put a later style solenoid on your motor, or you may not have the correct year for your motor. What's the model number for your motor?

This part number (OMC/BRP 0175158) came up in the intake manifold schematic for a 1993 Evinrude 140 on shop.evinrude.com.

when you take the 4 screws off of the cover, you can remove it

I cannot see the link from work. I have the correct year for my motor (83) serial no. E140TRXCTE. It may be the wrong solenoid on there, Im not sure.

Thanks. Figured it out. The new valve fit fine. Glad I got it fixed. Now just crosing my fingers the engine runs.
