Loss of power Evinrude 50hp VRO Outboard 1990's

Hi.. Please be gentle first time poster.. The problems are the following:

1). Has cut out when on the plane
2). Won't re-start straight away (Good electric turns)
3). Worst case will start, but stall when shifted into gear.

Recently serviced both engine and electrics..

Hi and welcome.
1) Need to check spark when it stops, might try using a timing light, quick way to do it.
2) If you don't have spark, you could have an ignition componet overheating, causing your problem.
3) Refer to #1, see if you have spark on ALL cylinders.
If the spark checks out OK, try squirting some fuel mixture into the carbs. If it fires off, continue squeezing the primer bulb, will over ride the fuel pump. Then you will need to repair/replace the fuel pump.
