1997 Evinrude Ficht 150 HP Motor Opinions

Hi everyone,

Im looking at purchasing a boat with a 1997 Evinrude Ficht outboard 150 HP and don't know anything about the Ficht line of evinrude. Anyone have any experience with these motors?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The motor has 200 original hours on it also

that was the very first year of the FICHT and it wan't bad compared to the ''98 and '99 models which were terrible.

Not many parts are still available for it, the ones that are command a high price, most dealers will not work on that model, plus there is no resale value for that motor. Just call around and ask any dealer what they would pay for one in good conditon. Unless you want something to learn on and accept the cost and problems associated with it, do not buy.
