How do you adjust the shift linkage correctly...I just did a water pump and reinstalled my lower unit. Now I have a thumping noise almost like its popping out of gear at high rpms
The height of the shift rod is adjustable. If you turned the shift rod, it may be out of adjustment. The shift cables are also adjustable. Remove the black cover and loosen the locking bolt.
