Gosh, I wanted to go to the lake, and now I've got problems again. Due to the great help here I reinstalled the head bearing assembly on my engine, replaced the O-rings and re-torqued the assembly to spec. I hoped I was done.

But my fuel line to the pump was leaking, or the VRO Pump itself was leaking. I couldn't tell. So I inspected--removed the six little screws then refastened them. I got one too tight--and I cracked the housing where that screw goes in. A new pump is $480 dollars.

Well so here are some questions: a) must I buy a new pump? b) will I be able to install the new one, or do they require tuning and adjusting? c) how do you use those ratchet clamps--is there a special tool.

At this point I think I'll call my boat mechanic; I guess I'm wondering if I should have a new pump waiting for him.

That would be great. I'll check them out right away.
