Long time watcher first time poster. I have a '94 I think (E140TLERR) 140hp that I have been fighting an idling problem with. Each year seems to get a little worse. New plugs, seafoam, fuel filter element, compression 110lbs. across the board. I figured it must be a carb issue. I pulled a couple of the fuel bowls off and they looked like new inside, no varish or sediment. I did find however that 3 of the 4 carb main jets had backed out and were resting against the bowl drain plug. They were still held place by about 1-1/2 threads but the orifice was blocked except for the screwdriver slots to let fuel in. My question is does anyone know if this would effect idle quality? It suprises me at wide open throttle it seemed to run ok.
