Evinrude 115hp 1995 Gasket Sealant

Engine # is E115TLEOR - 1995 - 115HP

I am replacing the gasket for the cylinder head (0318358) & gasket cover plate (0318335).
Just wondering if Permatex High-Temp Red RTV Silicone Gasket Maker would be the right sealant to use for both.

Evinrude states to use a Gasket sealing compound. Looked on their web site & can't find it.
Will the RTV above do the job.

Check the head gasket and see if it says " use no sealer ". If it doesn't you can use Permatex # 3 on both. Any Evinrude dlr should have the Gasket sealing compond.

Never use a silicone sealant on a head gasket. In general, silicone sealant on gaskets sealing water is not to recommend. Old type Permatex, OMC/BPR Sealing Compound or Loc Tite Aviation are to be preferred.
