evinrude lightwin lower unit exhaust tip

I just picked up two early (51-52) Evinrude lightwins in decent shape. One started immediately and runs great. The other is all there but has no spark ($80 for the pair). I noticed that on the one that runs the 'tip' on the lower unit (exhaust) is missing. The tip on the other is attached by two screws but the one that has it missing doesn't have a spot for the two screws. Question is; do I really need this tip and if so how do I attach it? thanks!

Probably broke off when dropped.. pretty common.

Just use it. It'll run and perform fine without that 'tip'.
