Johnson 40 to Johnson 50 powerhead swap

I have a 1985 Johnson 50hp that the lower cylinder is shot, piston broke, cylinder scored bad, head also shot, it is a J50TELCOB 1985 tiller,electric start, long shaft. I found a 1986 Johnson 40hp that has a good powerhead, i know the 40 is a short shaft, electric, remote steer, wondering if the powerhead from the 86 40hp will fit on my 85 50hp motor, just planning on changing the complete powerhead out if it will swap, any answers for me
