What power trim oil to use in 1995 60hp with fastrak system ?

I am just in the process of completely rebuilding the power trim on my 1995 evinrude 60hp.
Model no BE60TLEOC
Serial no G 03751787


The trim unit is the Fastrack system, and im replacing all seals and also putting in brand new rams.

Im now not sure what oil to use exactly, as the manual calls for OMC own brand which would now be BRP or
it also says i can use DEXRON 11.

now the makers of Dexron 11 have upgraded to DEXRON 111 and also DEXRON V1.

so what do i use in the trim system to be safe and not ruin the new set of seals
( The price of seals was ?71.00 uk price so realy dont want these ruined)

Is any Dexron fluid ok for this ? or do i need to look specifically for DEXRON 11 only.

BRP Trim/Tilt & Steering fluid is what is recommended.

well ofcourse it is, but the fluid is not made by BRP.!!!!!

The BRP Trim/Tilt fluid is only an automatic transmission fluid, its not something made by BRP themselves.
I dont want to pay hicked up prices for something that will probably be half the cost and the same product.

You put the wrong stuff in it and you can contaminate the seals and render the whole unit useless. Some fluids I won't substitute for another brand trim/tilt fluid is one of them.

Does anyone know the amount of oil i will need to fill the trim unit ?

this was completely emptied out.
I dont know how much came out and it was not full anyway due to bad leaks.

Ok folks
I can 100% confirm that the fastrack trim unit holds 700ml of hydraulic fluid from complete empty.

I ended up going with what was told by My local BRP agent and used quicksilver power trim and steering fluid.

Its a clear fluid. So ive filled it up, primed the system a few times on the bench and its now ready to go
back on the engine all working fine with NO LEAKS !!!

Total cost was ?243.38 including oil.
The 2 trim rams i got very cheap from bill higham at ?160 the pair (normal price from brp is ?165 each )
Full set of Seals i got from pro-rig marine ?71.00 and the oil from pro-rig ?12.38.

the best quote i got from a hydraulics repair to do new rams and seals was ?404

so i have saved a small fortune by doing this myself and shopping around.

hope i never have to do this again
