1995 20 hp Johnson tiller to remote steering conversion HELP

Ok, I have been told a few times that it is possible to convert my 1995 20 hp Johnson from tiller to remote steering... When i look it up online i really have no idea what im looking for and theres nothing that tells you HOW to do it... a "remote steering system" is $450+ ! Thats nuts, if thats really how much it costs, ebay and the local boat salvage yard will be by best friends. Another question i have is do i need a particular throttle control or will any OMC/Johnson one for a smaller motor work? Ive got a control off of my 1957 Crestliner and its an Evinrude simplex control, will it work? Its got 2 levers on it, one for fwd/neutral/rev, and the other one is throttle (i believe). Last question- when im looking for a helm, does it have to be a specific one or can i get any one? I am new to converting a motor and any advice/help would be GREATLY appreciated!
