Converting 1988 Johnson 4HP Deluxe from 15" to 20" - parts still available?

Bought this nice little 4hp motor as a trolling motor but have found that the longer shaft would fit better in my application. I can get by with the 15" shaft but the 20" would be so much better.

Looking on-line I've found that the parts are NLA from the suppliers I've researched. Any possible sources you might suggest?

Look at the top of the page in the "Top Secret File", there is a list of salvage yards there, maybe one of them can help you out.

So new parts are in fact no longer available from any "secret" sources?

Don't know, you could spend a lot of hours researching for parts on-line.

Like this??? This is the full gear shift unit and I removed it from a long sail engine and install a short version unit...PITA!!!!
