Ammeter??

Ive been on here for a while checking on threads about my motor 1964 evinrude starflite 90-s. Motor runs good finally. I was having trouble with shifting with the push button shift and fixed that and then i replaced the ignition switch which works good but now the ammeter doesnt work. It worked before with the old switch i had on it. I basically swapped the wires to the same posts and now dont work. What could be the problem.

one of three things.... your charging system is not working, therefore showing low/no current flow. it is not connected right. or the ammeter has failed.

If it worked before, I'd re-check the wiring job.
