I need a new cap and wires for a 1965 Evinrude 90hp. I noticed that the wires are molded into the cap and there isn't a parts store around that I can find this at!!

They're still available out there, but aren't terribly cheap. I bought mine from Dan Gano at ganotech.com. He is a reasonable guy to deal with.

Welcome to Iboats.

If you are looking for outboard parts at auto parts store, you're barking up the wrong tree. NAPA is an exception, as they can order parts from Sierra marine, but I believe Sierra does not carry your parts.

What is the model number for your engine?
You may be able to scrounge up some NOS OMC parts to rejuvenate your ignition system.

As far as your wires, I believe they screw into the cap, but I'm sure one of the OMC guru's can chime in to confirm this.

BTW, is this what your cap looks like?;

Is this your rotor?;

These might work for your leads (again a guru should confirm);
