Ok newbie here can someone tell me the proper way of starting your outboard. I know that i have an electric primer or choke when you push the key in. It has taken along time to get my motor started the last two times. After that it start like a dream. Thanks in advance.

You should have a primer system on your engine. Normally you pump the primer bulb till firm, turn the key to ON and push the key IN for a couple of seconds and then start it. It may be necessary to lift the cold start lever a little. You can push the key in while trying to start or after the engine is running if you need to prime it a little, sometimes on a very cold engine this is necessary.

Does the primer work continously when held in or is it best to push a few times.
