Hi Guys, I am back for a little more help please. Some weeks ago I asked you Guys to help me find out what 50horse Johnson I had and where I could get a wiring diagram.
The motor sits on an Evinrude transom bracket so I didn't have a clue.

You Guys helped a great deal and F_R sent me a wiring diagram, much obliged.

But I have just tried to order a Johnson manual and it appears that a 71 manual is different to a 72 manual, my question, is there any other way I can identify further which one I need?

My problem is that I am in Blighty and I don't want to ship the wrong thing all that way. I can't exactly take it back and change it.

You might sit down and look at the parts breakdown for the two engines and see if there is any major differences.
I think the two are pretty close.

Does it have a silver penny sized disc on the powerhead near the lifting eye?

I was hoping for the model number but thats only the serial.....

Do the cowling appliques (decals) wrap around to the back of the cowling?
Perhaps you can post a couple of pics of it......
