I rinsed the inside of my boat out yesterday and now my Power Tilt/Trim motor is running in the up position so I disconnected the battery all night long and today when I hooked it back up its still running in the up position. It worked fine before I rinsed the boat so I am not sure what I should check or where I should check but I can?t get the motor down either. The motor is a 1998 50 hp. I hope someone can help me with it and what and where the relays are or something...

Thanks

Here's your relay, #32.

Maybe you have water in the wiring.

I pulled off the relays and it did stop the motor from running as soon as I connected the battery but would that mean its a bad relay?

Sounds like you have a t/t switch shorted out either on the control handle or the one on the side of the mtr. Disconnect the wires going to each switch one at a time and see what happens.

I took the wires off the switch on the motor and it still was doing it so I guess its on the controls then huh. Is that switch replaceable?

Did you disconnect the wires from the handle to prove it's the prob ?? And yes, the switch is replaceable.

Have you tried to blow compressed air into the trim switch on the handle to get any water out of it?
