1986 90HP Johnson O/B no crank question

I have a 1986 90HP Johnson that has been rebuilt from the crank out a couple years ago. Been running fine since. I had it out over the w/e and started it up, ran across the lake and after fishing for a while, it wouldn't crank back up. I checked the fuel, and hoses, which had no obstruction, and changed the plugs while bobbing in the lake, still no fire. It cranks and cranks, but will not get fuel. Just looking for placed to start to look ? When I put it on the trailer, gas/oil mix ran out of the cowel and lower unit area from the best I can tell. It has leaked a bit of mix after being run for a while now, and I should have addressed it sooner. I normally run the boat out of gas before parking it in the garage as I don't run it every w/e.

How have you determined that it's a fuel issue and not a spark issue?

Lots of unburned fuel running out sounds like no spark...

Start with the basics. Test for Compression, Spark, & Fuel.

Was by myself, so no way to check spark. Will do that and see what I have.
