The old style ford solenoids will not work for the johnson model I have. There is a safety switch that goes to a terminal on the solenoid. So what solenoid do I need for it? Thanks

I tracked down the part number. Marineengine.com has the parts manuels availible. Its a 1963 40hp electramatic. I bought the proper solenoid and a carb rebuild kit. Waiting on delivery. Keeping my fingers crossed. How do you figure out if your safety switch is toasted or not?
