Hello,
I have it opened up and would like to change the oil. What grade oil and how much of it? I read the secretr file that recommends the fill pump. Is there a way to do it without the pump? Also, are the replacement hex head screws only available in the boating store? Can I try regular hardware store?
Also, the water pump area is very dirty and oily inside (as well as many other parts of motor). What should I use to clean it?
Thanks!

Use 80/90wt marine grade lower unit oil, can usually get it at most auto parts stores. Get 2 16oz tubes, you can do it without the pump, but you have to be quick when swapping tubes. It would be best to use stainless steel bolts, check with your local hardware store. I wouldn't worry about cleaning it, it will dirty back up right a way.

Is it marine grade?
If that's all you can get it will work for you.
