1996 Johnson outboard 9.9HP stalling

Hi

i got a 9.9hp johnson that runs good for about 15 minutes than sputters and stalls. If i keep squeezing the rubber primer ball, it keeps running. Also if I elevate the fuel tank it keeps running fine.
Can someone give me an idea of what might be the problem? fuel pump? fuel hose leak? dirty gas?
I appreciate any ideas. Thank you guys!

is this an easy fix? I can do basic things like change plugs, oil, etc. I never worked on a fuel pump. can i purchase the fuel pump here online? thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
