My primer solenoid works occasionally. When it works (it clicks) my engine starts fine. However it doesn't consistently click when the ignition switch is pushed in. If it is working and my engine starts but if I turn the engine off and try to start it again the solenoid doesn't always click when the ignition switch is pushed in. Any suggestions? Also, would it be common for the solenoid to stick and not work sometimes????? Also, I checked to see that the solenoid was getting power when the switch was pushed in and it is.

You may have a wiring prob or the plunger in the solenoid is sticking. Are you in a salt water area ?

You'll have to take it apart to find out. Have found some in the salt water area I'm in that had corrision around the plunger. Disconnect the wire from the solenoid and put a volt meter or test light on it. Turn your key on and everytime you push in the switch you should get a voltage reading. If not you have wireing or key switch probs.
