Been working on this TN-28 for about three months now and have overcome a number of issues.......imagine that! I am down to reassembly of the lower end and can't seem to get the clutch cable to thread all the way up the tube. It seems to hang up right at the power head. Does anyone know any tricks?

Yep. Remove the curved cable tube that runs between the tank bracket and exhaust tube. Just a couple of screws and a clamp at the upper end. Thread the cable up through, then reinstall the curved tube. Makes it easy.

I have that curved tube removed and the cable seems to hang up just prior to coming through the power head. Any other tips or tricks?

It can't be frayed on the end. Put plenty of duck butter (grease) on it, and even squeeze some in the tube. Rotate and twist the cable all the way up the tube. It takes some patients and about 15 minutes.

Put just a slight bend in the upper 1/2'' of the cable. Then the rotate & twist method becomes more effective as the bend "points" to the way it needs to go.
