was the engine used in salt water? If so they can be a pain and get real tight from oxidation, They come apart fairly easy, 2 little screws in front, a long screw in back, a screw on the plastic handle, after you take off the plastic handle part you can use a little heat from a propane torch to help get the screws out, use a "good" screw driver. use a low temp all weather lithium grease re-lube/reinstall in reverse.
