Hi everyone. I have checked most threads and can't find the answer to my problem. Went to go boating last week and discovered the shift lever at half forward throttle - and jammed. Kids then said, "oh yes, it got stuck!". With a bit of brute force, the lever came back to neutral and we moved it forward and back a few times with it catching then moving past the original stuck point with a clunk. In the water and the motor started first time as usual - and the shifter moved smoothly back and forward. After a days fishing the lever moved smoothly all the time and now back in the shed, still moves smoothly. So, what was the problem and is it serious. Is it more likely in the remote unit or in the bottom end of the motor? Any suggestions would be most gratefully received. Thanks, John

First off the shift lever should not be moved with out turning the prop or have the mtr running. Something may have got jammed and you lucked out if it's now working okay. Don't shift when everything is not moving!!!!!!!!!
