hello, good people, i recently had my shift cable decide to let go. i had a 14' cable. bought a 15' cable,(was in a hurry to fish), for the life of me i cannot get the shift cable to work correctly, when it is hooked up to the control box it works way to hard to shift and also will not go all the way into both gears, ie forward and then reverse. i have since bought a 14' cable as was the original... everything was fine until this happened, after the cable had let go, i manually shifted the motor into reverse and had no problem doing so. the motor that i am talking about is a 1994 evinrude backtroller, remot shift and throttle. throttle seems to be fine....however perhaps i am hooking the shift cable to the wrong hook up on the shift control box???? i am totally lost as what should have been simple, or so it seemed to me.. if you can help me that would be awesome. i ordered the new cable so probably won't see it for a couple days or so. thanks
