I am attempting to drop the lower unit on my J25RERC and i am having trouble figuring out how to disconnect the shifter rod linkage, to replace the water pump. Any knowledge would really help me out. Thanks
Take the screens off for the water pick up and you'll find a coupler in there. Take that apart and spread the little keeper around the shift rod and remove it. This should let you drop the lu.
