Hey guys, I'm new here ad some of you I've already pestered via PM.

I have a used 1972 (50272c) 50HP Evinrude, I was under the assumption it DOES NOT need an oil mix. But want to be sure because one of the spare tanks the boat came with appears to have oil in it while the tank hooked up to the motor appears to be clear, straight gas...

I'm stuck until I know whether I should mix or not.

Thanks so much in advance..

That 1972 model absolutely requires that oil be mixed with thre gasoline. Use a 50/1 mixture.... 1 pint of 50/1 oil to 6 gallons of gasoline.

The automatic oilers (VRO System) did not exist until 1984.
