OK. So now today I go out to the engine since it is 70 degrees out. I take the cover off to trouble shoot QuickStart, and find that my spark advance assembly is laying in the bottom of the motor housing. It had snapped off at the threaded section midway. I have since discovered that it is part 432095 ? LINK ASSY., SPARK ADVANCE that is no longer available. Does anyone have any ideas on how to repair. I know I can try my local marine junk yard, but I was looking for maybe a possible retrofit from a new series engine that would not be plastic. Thanks in advance..

pretty hard to believe that thing snapped at least you hopefully can get replacement from the bone yards . great time to make sure all the other parts are moving freely

mine broke off too on my 1989 200 Evinrude, It ran fine with out it. If we are talking about the same round plastic handle looking thingy. I never replaced it.

nice tile counter top, I KNOW you did not lay that greasy part on your wifes kitchen counter top... ROFL..
so that newer style will work on the 89'..thats a great piece of info to know, those old style ones had a flawed design with the small plastic threads that supported the weight, they break easily.

NO kitchen countertop....that is the table outside on the pool deck. It is gonna be 80 here today. Love it!!!

But, I have never actually put one of these newer ones on an older motor. They look identical, but the air silencer is different.

I think it will work tho, without any clearance problems, you may not be able to adj with the air silencer on.....

I read a long time ago that it would work, not sure where I read it.

I have the same issue on mine will the part in picture above work if I also change out the rod. Than runs through it? My rod is much longer. But I was thinking maybe the newer style would work. Everyone I have talked to is unsure.
I know this must be a common problem are there any old Evinrude Johnson gurus that can help me. Or do any of you know a guy that knows a guy that might have one? Or have a remedy maybe using that later version of the part 432095
