This engine has good compression, new plugs, rebuilt carbs and this newest problem is ...new. The engine starts nicely, needs to be idled up a bit to run cold but after warm up idles and runs great...for a few minutes then idles rough and at low RPM (700-1000 RPM) operation stays rough and needs a little gas to keep running. Once out of harbor and idle zones it runs great even at mid RPM. When Idled down in a no wake zone it will quit, be a hard start, and kick over here and there and eventually start and run if I can get the RPM's up immediately. I had a newer model of fuel pump installed a few years ago,....might it need a new one again? It probably has about 200 hrs on the last fuel pump. If I pump the ball while attempting to start it will help and will kick over and perhaps keep running if I can get someone to be on bulb watch until we get up on plane.
