I have six bolts out of the powerhead, but it is not coming apart yet. I am trying to separate it from the foot. Are there more pieces I need to remove before I can get the powerhead off?

Is this mtr used in salt water ?? 'cause I never had to drop a g/c to get the p/h off. Try dropping the g/c and if you can get it off you'll know the splines aren't frozen.

I've got the powerhead off; thanks for confirming that I had all the bolts out.
It looks like there is wear between the shaft and the crankshaft and the shaft doesn't turn when the crank does. Should I try to fix this thing or toss it?

9.9/15 hp. powerheads come up on ebay frequently and finding a d/s shouldn't be too difficult if you want to go the replacement route...look at the top of the Forums under the Top Secret Files for Salvage Yards as well....
