Hello, I just purchased a Carolina Skiff J16 with a 1994 Johnson 48 SPL on it. Im doing some maintenace on it to make sure its in perfect shape when I get it on the water. The problem is I cannot find the model or serial number for the motor and I need it to order parts, and on top of that its been painted. I checked every number I could and founf nothing. The number on the freeze pluge looking piece is G3961294. Right now i just ordered a thermostat for it which seemed to small and I tried another one from the local marine shop which seems like a weird fit too. The guy removed the thermostat so I cant even compare it to see how it was installed and what it looked like Please help me out. Thanks
