Does anyone know the difference between the air scilencer on the my 1998 150 hp ficht with part number 438284 and the my 2000 with part number 439742.

I've lost my air scilencer and am looking for a new one but the only used one i found in sweden was a 1998 so far.

Regards kalle

The difference in the two silencers may be that the 1998 had a cover going over the top of the mtr for air flow to cool the ECU. The 2000 had a water cooled EMM and didn't require the hood. It could have something to do with hood mounting which yours doesn't require as your EMM is water cooled. The 1998 may just work for you.

Boobie is correct about the air flow design. Also behind the air box, the fuel pump and vapor separator designs are completely different so there may be clearance issues. Your '98 is a breed all by itself both design and electrical wise.

Ok, thanks. I notised that the my1998 175hp had the same partnumber as My 2000 150hp. Isn't the layout of the 175 and the 150 the same?
