Is the 1985 Evinrude 70hp drive shaft 4 or 16 spline

Hello, I just picked up a jet drive with a 16 spline shaft for my 1985 70hp Evinrude. The marina said it would fit my motor but after getting home (from the 12 hour round trip to pick it up) I began to do a little more research and am now thinking that my motor needs a 4 spline shaft. I was close to going out to the storage yard, uncovering my boat and taking off the bottom end when a buddy suggested I post the question on iboats.

Everything I found online says I need a 4 spline but I'm hoping the internet is wrong... lol.

Also wanted to know how much it's worth in case I have to sell it if it doesn't fit.
