If the oil has a milky-look or (worse-case) milk shake-look there's water in it.

9oz, but fill from the drain hole (bottom) until it exits the vent hole (top)

Be sure to replace both gaskets, do not reuse the old ones.

When you fill it up, put the top plug in tight, before you remove the filler attachment, that way you have a very minimal loss of oil.

When you take the water pump assembly out, you want to make sure that you don't remove the upper bearing housing. There is a gasket under that and if you do happen to break it loose, then you will need to replace the gasket there. As far as the impeller housing, no, there isn't any gaskets there. When you put it back together though, you can put a small film of sealer on the bottom of the impeller housing, to seal things up there.

You can pry it off with a putty knife. The shft rod will need to come out through the bottom, after you disassemble the gearcase.

I had to remove the pivot pin first before I could remove the gear case assy
