Search your motor on google, craigs, ebay and see what $$ you find. Varies greatly by location and month.

Yea, right now, I'm afraid you won't get much for it. It's off season and the economy for boats and motors is in poor shape. You'll have a lot better chance in the late Spring.

That was a sweet little mtr and it worked real good on a flat back canoe or a small dingy. Hang on to it to you get top dollar for it.

Re: Evinrude Mate 2 serial 20402E

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. I tried searching for monetary value but came up with absolutely nothing. I was offered $350 for it yesterday. Just wanted to make sure that was a fair price for both of us. I am not into boating so I have no use for this item. Thought someone who would appreciate it more than myself should have a shot at owning it. However, I know it was important to who I inherited from and would like to make sure it doesn't just get forgotten. Again, thanks. Bidding all of you Happy Holidays.

Re: Evinrude Mate 2 serial 20402E

I may be able to help a little here. I have a total of four of those little motors, the latest to which I bought two weeks ago in Los Angeles. It it a 1970 "mate" that has the exposed flywheel. This motor is almost in showroom condition and only needed fresh gas to run like a top, and I paid 100.00. I have the same year model in the Johnson that is in great shape that I paid the same price for. Those two are the 1.5hp variety, then I have two Johnson 2hp (a 1972 and a 1976 Colt) Both run great and one I got for 20 bucks and the other for 40.00.

Bottom line... your little motor was not 350.00 when it was new (I don't think) and if you have been offered that, AND if you not going to use it or collect it... it is a more than fair offer. If you told me it was new in a box and had never been run, I might offer 250.00.

Just my opinion.... have a GREAT holiday.

If you were offered $350 for it, I wouldn't turn it down. Sell it and buy three more :D
