Hey all.

i am new to this. I am about to buy a 23 foot cabin cruiser with a 200hp v6 outboard. what sort of consumption can i expect for cruising revs of some 3000 - 3500 , which should translate to about 22 mph...?

any reviews on the engine you may like to share?

My 1987 225 at that PRM is around 13-17 GPH. Depending on waves and boat loading....

What year?????

I think its a mid 90's engine, but its actually brand new with only about 6 hours on it, since it was never actually commissioned, reason being it had been run without oil in its gear box and was left on a display stand for some years. Its now had the gear box replaced, so the actual engine is pretty unused!

that sound pretty good.. i now run a 2 stroke nissan 90 (1992 model) that give me about the same, on my 18 foot speedboat at 4000 revs.

just to let you know that i calculate i am doing about 40 litres per hour, in reasonably calm conditions at about 3200 revs.
