hey guys i have a 1979 evinrude 115 hp and the boat i am putting it on has a steering cable installed already but it was for a mercury. it looks the same, its the type that goes thru the front of the transom bracket. will the threads line up on the nut/motor bracket, and will it be the correct length from the nut? thanks

The cable should work on both.....the link (connecting rod) from the end of the cable to the steering arm might be another matter though.

You'll most likely need another steering link from the end of the cable to the mtr. Other wise it should work.

Easy to replace. There are different steering links for different model mtrs Check with your BRP dealer.

What are you planning to use for controls? One old boat & OMC motor I bought had Merc & shift. The Mercs shift was backwards as compared to the OMC
