remote controls help for johnson 9.9hp 1990 model

I picked up a 1990 model 9.9hp johnson J10RELESC. that a guy just had Jerry rigged. I have an OMC control from a 1984 johnson 50 that popped. I was hoping I could use it but the cables don't match, they seem too long and the throttle cable moves in the opposite direction. I need to know what control I need. Thanks guys. I've been over on the dark side runing mercs/mariners since that johnson 50hp popped a ring.

Nevermind on the cables moving the opposite direction. The throttle cam and screw assembly was broken, I knew the throttle should advance more than it did. I found the piece under the carb. So should I be able to use my 1984 omc control with different cables? It's a red plug control. The motors internal wire harness plug has been cut
so i'll probably just remove the red plug on my 1984 omc control and connect the approprate wires. I guess I could wire the internal harness red plug from my blown 50hp
to the wires coming out of the 9.9hp. that would probably be better.

I'll tear into it more once I get my manual but does anyone have a
