I have a 2005 Johnosn 70HP 4 cyl, 4 stroke, EFI with ignition problems. Cyl 2 & 3 fire 100% of the time, cyl 1 is dead (no spark), cyl 4 fires 80% of the time. I replaced the coil for 1 & 4, and I get identical results.

What should I check next?

I would check all electrical connections and ground wires on the engine. Battery fully charged with clean, dry, tight connections. Did you replace with new coil. Sparkplugs wires checked? The signal to trigger the coils is 6-10 volts, checked with a peak reading meter. Check CKP and CMP sensor. The manual I`m looking at gives different specs for the coil resistance test. Coil 1&4 15-26, coil 2&3 16-28.
