evinrude duck twin what year?

I am new here and this is my first post.I am working on a 2 cyl outboard and am having trouble finding the year of build.The model number is 3812s and the serial is B1984.Any info is appreciated

Any chance it could be a 3612, can't seem to cross a 3812.

i found what appears to be a freeze plug on the side of the powerhead and it had the model and serial number stamped on it.I mis-read the outside tag and it was model 3312s instead of 3812s. I found out that it is a 1963 year model.I removed the internal fuel tank screen and it is rusted beyond use.Is this fitting-screen still available? If so, any part numbers for this piece?If not,is there a useable alternative?Any info is appreciated.Thanks
