Was a VRO...pump and tank removed..mixed fuel pump installed..good fuel and
and what appears to be hot ignition..Carbs have been done , 125lbs both cylinders
won't rev over 3K underway.....???? Any ideas...???
Compression seems to be OK. Will the spark jump a 7/16" air gap? You might check spark with a timing light to make sure you are not dropping a cylinder under load. Use a squirt bottle with fuel in it and squirt fuel into each carb and see if it picks up.
EDIT: Corrected the air gap distance for the spark plugs.
Been using surface discharge plugs and pushing the choke solonoid would do the same as a a squirt bottle...... and knowing it's a typo 7 feet 16 inches is a long way for a spark to jump LOL
I'm thinking something left over from the VRO circuit low oil or pump failure ...along with overheating would limit the rpm's... might the PP be the issue ...maybe stuck in the saftey mode
