88 evinrude 175 loss of power

I need some help the other. Week my boat broke down. So I found out it was the stator. So I replaced the stator and timer how the service manual say. Today I took it out in the water and runs but is not running right it feels like a complete loss of power. Does anybody know some thong I can check to help me regain the power back. Thanks

If you changed the timer base it might have altered the timing / link n sync, that would be the first thing I would check.

i would check compression first of all ! then if that checks out start with the electrical
