Refilling the lower unit on the outboard today and have a quick question. There is a drain screw and a fill level screw... what is the little screw next to the water intake? It appears to be leaking lubricant. Any ideas? Is it to allow air in the system while filling?

That small screw is a pinion bearing screw. Keeps the bearing located in the case. It is tapped through to the oil reservoir. You can remove it and put some sealant on the threads to keep it from leaking. Normally, this screw is not something an owner would mess with.
