Tired of Repainting Props and Skegs!

Rather than having to keep repainting props and skegs, when the paint gets galled off over time, I removed the paint from them and now all I'd need to do is brighten them up when needed with the acid you use to brighten up aluminum like on screen doors, Airstream brand bare aluminum camping trailers etc. (see attachment) I thought that was a good thing to do and am wondering how many other boaters have done it.
