how-do y'all,
newby here and love all info i found here. have a question on control boxes for omc motors. i recently bought a '98 bayhawk 190 bayboat with a 98 johnson 115hp 60 degree motor on it. payed a grand for the whole thing..........it spent 6 hours underwater at the texas coast. currently have motor pulled down to overhaul and found an evinrude 112 hp on craigslist for a decent price, low compression in one cylinder. anyway- it is a fresh water motor and was thinking of putting this on boat and using tilt/trim from 115 to put on 115 on my pontoon boat. my question is this- will the control box for a 98 johnson 115hp work on a 95 evinrude 112hp engine? any help would be greatly appreciated. also, might the tilt and trim from the 98 adapt over to the 78 evinrude 115hp on my pontoon? thank ya much fellers

Same same, with the exception of the wiring harness. You may have to buy an adapter. Late model uses modular connectors. Early model used barrel connector.
