Electric accessories problem

My Son in Law and his neighbor replaced the trim switch on the remote handle on my 2001 90hp Johnson. As it
turned out the switch wasn`t bad ,it was the connectors it went into. Before they figured it out they also played with some relays
on the motor which were put back in their original position. Well they hard wired the switch not having new connectors to put in. Now
when the battery switch is turned to the off position all the accessories still work when turned on . I know that is not the way it`s supposed
to work. What did they do that they shouldn`t have?

Thanks for your help

Re: Electric accessories problem

Sounds like they have somehow tied back the on side of the switch with a live wire. Or the have connected on to a wire that is back feeding the on side of the switch.

You have to love electrical issues. Good Luck.
