'81 Evinrude 7.5HP AC lighting

I've just bought an Evinrude 7.5HP '81 for my TS16 i noted that there's a sticker claiming AClighting, plus i noticed a (what looks like) a power socket covered by a rubber plug on the side of housing.Does anyone know about this?Is it a power outlet? can it run nav. lights of charge a battery? etc.

You may use it to run navigation lights, however it is a specific way of combining the different colors(yellow, yellow/blue, yellow/green) and bulbs to get it right.
It may be connected to a rectifier and used for charging a battery which is a far better option. Max charge is about 3 Amp on full speed, but better than nothing and lamps and other equipment may be used with a steady voltage.
